Kagi adds a toggle to strip paywalled links, revamps Stocks widget and Assistant

Kagi’s latest changelog rolls out a grab-bag of updates to its paid search engine, but the one drawing attention is a new opt-in setting that automatically drops paywalled links from search results — a direct appeal to users tired of clicking through to subscription walls. It ships alongside a rebuilt Stocks widget that now surfaces more often, covers ETFs as well as individual equities, and adds an animated price chart designed to put fluctuations in context across time windows.

The Kagi Assistant, the product’s AI chat layer, gets the bulk of the polish. User messages now render links, Markdown, and LaTeX; threads are searchable and sortable with folder filtering via a slash command; and temporary threads can be set to expire after 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. Mobile apps pick up keyboard-submit shortcuts and fixes for Android/iOS gesture and login bugs, while Kagi Translate resolves several regressions around website translation and saved presets.

The long tail of bug fixes is telling for a search product positioning itself on quality: blocked domains were leaking into Quick Answer sources, a shared-Assistant-thread indexing gap was closed to keep private chats out of search engines, and a reported XSS issue in the feedback tool was patched. Taken together, the release reads less like a headline feature and more like steady iteration on trust, relevance, and everyday usability.
