Epic's AI-assisted Launcher claims speed edge over Steam

Epic Games has released a new version of its Epic Games Launcher, built using AI to improve speed and responsiveness. The company’s General Manager, Martin Keely, stated that the team rewrote the codebase from scratch using AI tools to enhance efficiency. The new Launcher is designed to be faster than Steam, with noticeable improvements in startup speed. While Epic claims marginal performance advantages, some differences, like a 0.06-second restoration time, are negligible. The new Launcher is available in a Preview build and supports Windows, Mac, and future Linux versions.
