Claude Duet: Proactive AI Agent Automates Tasks

Claude Duet is a proactive AI agent powered by Opus 5.5, available as a research preview for Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US. The agent takes on tasks independently—from drafting responses and setting up meetings to handling business operations like invoice tracking and payroll preparation. It communicates through the Claude app via text or voice, briefs users each morning, and seeks approval for sensitive actions.

The agent maintains security by running approvals and logins on users’ own cloud computers, keeping sensitive details private. It integrates with existing Claude account features including memory, skills, and connected apps, consolidating all activity in a single conversation thread. Users can see and redirect its work as needed.

Currently in research preview, Claude Duet is available on iOS and Android apps as well as the web at claude.ai. It shares usage limits with other Claude features and may misread context or miscalibrate urgency. Team and Enterprise plans are not yet supported.
